And last but by no means least is our
18 year old Gelding
Valley Whiskers who made an appearance at Olympia 2001 after qualifying at the
Shetland Breed Show the year it was held at the Three Counties Show Ground in Malvern, having headed a class of 25. Madeline, my niece,
was his rider, she was 12 the year they qualified. In the same year Madeline & 'Sammy' partnered up with Amber Rose &
Melland Merlin for
the P(UK) Pairs class and took the Champion title, a night we will never forget.
A little bit about us & our ponies
Hodeam Shetlands has been established for around 3 years now. It is run by myself,
Sonia and my daughter, Holly. We are only a small stud so only breed every other
year, on our first attempt we had a beautiful Shetland filly, Hodeam Briar Rose, out of
our lovely mare, Buckland Moon by Hose Voyage. Rose was best filly is her class at
the Suffolk Show 2008.
Moon is a fantastic broodmare and seems to be producing real quality
stock.

Now Holly has grown out of the Shetlands we
currently have our section A Stallion, Winneydene
Sand Piper, who is by Winneydene Satellite and out
of Friars Sabrina. Holly is having great fun on Billy
and has had some good results with him, including
WHP Champion at Royal London 2009.
In the Shetland department we also have Bincombe Phlox, who has been successful inhand, including the Supreme championship title at the Amateur Showing Society Championship Show in 2007. She is a
sweet heart and it was so sad to see Holly grow out of her,
but she is proving to be a fantastic broodmare
